NEW Petition Required - Please Sign
Hi all - the petition we started last Friday used the term "apartments" because that's the information we had at the time. Unfortunately, Mayor Kilgore and a ZAPCO committee member are trying to invalidate the concerns shared by everyone who signed it. ALL OF OUR PREVIOUS CONCERNS ARE STILL VALID. If anything, the situation is actually worse. CLICK HERE TO SIGN THE NEW PETITION.
So that there can be no argument as to its validity, we have created a new petition that speaks to the exact project parameters released by the city yesterday (9/26) which is "medium density multifamily residential" and allows for the development of a "small-lot subdivision" made up of 130 homes on only 13 acres of land.
The negative effects of this development on LTE students, staff, parents, and neighboring homes in the area will be substantial.
This development will back directly up to the playground of LTE. Students will be subjected to years of noise and dust in the area they are meant to play.
This development will create an estimated 950 daily trips, per the traffic study provided. Kollmeyer cannot bear this increase.
This development will result in the destruction of an estimated 400 trees, many of which are century oaks.
This development will cause damaging flooding to the homes downstream from it, as it is in the flood zone.
Please help spread the word to stop the Kollmeyer rezoning.
