Reject the proposed NMC price hike

The Issue

As a dedicated nurse within the NHS, I witness firsthand the struggles faced by my colleagues and myself as we continue to provide care with passion and dedication amidst an underfunded system. The proposed increase by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) from £120 to £143 annually adds another burden to our already strained finances.

While public sector employees like us have not been granted pay rises in line with inflation, we are now expected to meet this additional expense. This price hike could not have come at a worse time, as many of us are already overwhelmed by high living costs and devastatingly low wages, struggling to make ends meet while fulfilling our crucial roles on the frontline.

Nurses are the backbone of the health system, and without proper support and fair treatment, the quality of healthcare services could decline. This proposed fee increase only adds to the mounting pressures we face daily, potentially driving valuable and experienced professionals out of the sector due to unbearable financial strain.

We must convince the NMC to reject this unjust fee increase. Investments in healthcare workers are necessary to sustain and improve our NHS. We look to our professional bodies to champion our needs, not add to our burdens.

Please join us in urging the NMC to reconsider this price hike and preserve the integrity and sustainability of our healthcare workforce. Your support can make a difference. Sign this petition now to stand with nurses and frontline workers across the UK.
