Over 100 Calls to Police from the Covenant House Property
At the city commission meeting on March 5, a speaker gave the commissioners a report of all calls to made to the the Fort Lauderdale Police Department for service at 733 Breakers Dr - the current location of the Covenant House facility. The calls were made from January 2024 through February 2025.

There were over 100 calls, or about one call every four days. Here are the counts of the number of calls by type:

Covenant House Refuses to Assist Police with an Investigation
Also included in that report was the details of a suspicious incident on February 26, 2025. An individual contacted FLPD, claimed to be a victim of sex trafficking, and said that their present location was Covenant House. When Fort Lauderdale police officers arrived at the property to investigate, the supervisor at Covenant House refused to confirm whether or not there was a person by that name staying there. The officers left with no further action.

Updates on Public Meetings
As of today, the Covenant House application has not been scheduled to be reviewed at any public meetings. However, we expect that this will change quite soon on short notice. Everyone who has signed the petition will get regular updates as the official review meetings are scheduled.
