Action Needed! Come to the Old Courthouse at 5:30 to reject Phase I and II of Anderson Reserve

This will be the fourth time that landowners within 2000 feet have received the post card.  After the rejection in March by the Planning Commission by a vote of 4 to 3, we are back before them.

The signs on the road didn't come down after the down vote.  It was confusing, and when I called the number, they couldn't tell me anything about why they where still up.  They didn't know if they missed the signs, or what has happened, so I was told to call the next week.  However, I went the next day to the Planning department and was told that they had just found out that the developer had appealed the decision as was their right.

This is Old business and it now includes Phase I that was approved in May of 2023.  No development has started.  So they will be combining Phase I and Phase II that was rejected and try to get approval that way.

Come to the Old Courthouse in Anderson by 5:30 PM today.  You can sign up to voice your concerns but you don't have to.  Being there will be helpful to show your opposition to the proposals.

Here are some concerns we hope will be addressed:

• Hidden Slave graves on the site.  Bulldozers will destroy those graves
• Historical archaeological site of the Rivoli plantation.
• School overcrowding with new students
• Volunteer Fire department not equipped to handle the density
• Destruction of the rural character of Anderson county.  We don't want to be a bedroom community of Clemson, Greenville, and we don't want to be annexed into Pendleton City Limits.  They have the highest property taxes in the area.
• Traffic headaches and congested roads on Highway 187 (Wild Hog Road) and Fant's grove.  Are you tired of waiting for traffic to clear on Hwy 187 so you can get on the road?
• Community members have not be met with and have no input to this development from the developer and land owner AnMed a 501(3)(c) organization.  AnMed has paid no taxes on this property since obtaining it in 2007.

What you can do;

Attend the April 9th Tuesday Meeting.  Come out at 5:30 at the Old Anderson courthouse.  Show your opposition to this Dense Subdivision in the Pendleton Precinct in rural Anderson County.
