This is the response I received from CC&GBC regarding this petition. Totally unacceptable, and with disregard to the concerns and issues raised.  Nothing more than I expected in all honesty.....

Hi Paul,

Thanks again for agreeing to meet with me last week and apologies for only coming back to you now. I have discussed your suggestions internally and have been provided with the comments below. I think I explained that I am on leave for most of March, so if you have any queries on the below information, can I ask that you please liaise with my colleague Melanie (cc’d).

As discussed, Ballymoney Old Vehicle Club as a competent group with event insurance organise the car display to coincide with the Spring Fair. Council does not prescribe the class of vehicles, and this is managed by BOVC.

Certainly, Paul’s contacts with additional classic and vintage car owners would be very much welcomed. If they wish to apply to exhibit and be part of the car display and afternoon cavalcade, they should contact BOVC to apply, details below. The club usually apply a small entrance fee which supports event insurance and a charitable donation by BOVC post event. On the day arrivals to the show are very much welcomed by all or you can register your interest in advance by contacting the club.

Hi Pat,

            this does not address the issues that I have raised at all. It doesn't address the inclusion of the vehicles in the cavalcade, nor does it address an alternative venue for the Vintage & Classic Community to display their vehicles annually. It simply allows the status quo of BOVC to have control over the V&C Vehicle Community in this area, and have everything their own way which simply isn't acceptable as they do not speak in any way for the vast majority of vehicle owners in this area. I will be reporting your reply to our discussion back to the community via the petition and other information avenues as this is totally unacceptable. I will continue with my petition and will be taking more professional advice in relation to this matter. 

Simply brushing the Vintage & Classic Vehicle Community as a whole aside in favour of the plans of a minority local club will not be accepted nor tolerated.
