The Issue

As a resident of Croydon, I was deeply moved when I came across a video of a gentleman named Ringo generously feeding the homeless in our area. Our neighborhood has a significant issue with homelessness, wherein many individuals are seen openly sleeping on the streets. Unfortunately, our local borough seems to turn a blind eye to this pressing issue. Ringo, however, took it upon himself to do something about it – cooking meals from scratch, sometimes with just one pot. Regrettably, his selfless act of kindness was halted when he was banned from cooking for the homeless, as reported by a local trader at Surrey Street market.

Despite being single-handedly responsible for providing the only meals some of these homeless individuals might have for days, Ringo was banished from continuing his humanitarian act. Moreover, this is not the only area Ringo feeds the homeless, he visits other areas too, delivering nourishment and hope to those in need. In a world where hunger affects approximately 690 million people, according to a report by the United Nations in 2019, this ban is a step in the wrong direction. We must demonstrate our support for Ringo, and show him that there are more people who believe in what he's doing than those against him.

We ask that this ban be lifted so that Ringo, and like-minded individuals, can continue to do their part in aiding the homeless population. Kindness should never be punished, and it's time our community stood up for what's right. Sign this petition today to show your support for Ringo and to help combat hunger in our locality.
