Reinstate the Death Penalty in the United Kingdom

Reinstate the Death Penalty in the United Kingdom
The Issue
I am deeply concerned about the state of our justice system, particularly when it comes to dealing with convicted terrorists, mass murderers, serial rapists, paedophiles and child killers. The prison system is overcrowded and in some cases such as terrorism, prisons can become breeding grounds for radicalisation. Furthermore, there's also the cost of keeping a convicted criminal behind bars for years to consider as well as the victims of crime.
The death penalty should be an option for these heinous crimes. Only one appeal should be allowed with no right to legal aid which must be lodged and heard within 3 months of conviction. This approach could potentially alleviate pressure on our prison system and provide a more fitting punishment for those who have committed truly abhorrent crimes.
According to data from The World Prison Brief (2019), England and Wales have one of the highest rates of incarceration in Western Europe - 139 per 100,000 people - indicating that our prison systems are under immense strain.
Reinstating capital punishment is not a decision to take lightly; however it is crucial that we reconsider all options available when dealing with such serious offences. Please sign this petition if you believe that reinstating capital punishment should be considered by UK lawmakers.
