I, along with many other local parents, rely heavily on the crèche service offered by the Peninsula Aquatic Recreation Centre (PARC). We are dependent on this valuable service, as it allows us the time to focus on our health and well-being at the gym. Unfortunately, PARC and Frankston council has decided to terminate this service as of December 20, to the detriment of many parents and guardians.

The closure of the crèche service will force many of us to cancel our memberships, not because we want to, but because we have no other options. This is a significant setback for community well-being. Regular physical activity can reduce the risk of chronic diseases, enhance mental health, and maintain healthy weight – without the crèche service, many parents will lose the opportunity to engage in these beneficial activities (sources: World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control).

With this petition, we are urging PARC and Frankston council to reconsider their decision and to maintain the crèche service, valuing the health and community benefits it provides.
