Since there are so many of you who signed this petition, I wanted to share some news.
A few days before the start of the school year, the band director resigned. However, the band parent association has stated that the new principal has been firm in his support for the band program and finding a new director.
While this outcome was not expected, the fact that the school has committed to keeping the program going, even without a director, is certainly some sort of relief. Some of you may remember that a similar situation of not having a band director around the start of school happened to this program not even 10 years ago. The Sound of Pride is resilient, it always has been, and it has a strong support system with its parent association and all of you who care so much.

I will be closing this petition shortly. As an alumnus I just wanted to get the word out, but now that the situation has changed I feel it is no longer necessary to keep this petition open.
