Reinstate the Beloved "Kiss Goodnight" Closing Show at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom

The Issue

For myself and countless others, our childhood memories are resplendent with the "Kiss Goodnight" closing show at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World a majestic spectacle that brought a magical day to a magical conclusion. Regrettably, this cherished tradition, one of the few remaining uses of "When You Wish Upon a Star" at the parks, was removed, causing many hearts, young and old, to yearn for its glorious return.

For those who don't know, the Kiss Goodnight was a short light and sound show that occurred on Cinderella's Castle and Main Street after park closing. It served as both a goodbye message and a celebration of Walt Disney, the Magic Kingdom, and dreamers of all ages.

Beyond the personal attachment many visitors have developed for the "Kiss Goodnight", it has also demonstrably impacted the overall guest experience at Walt Disney World. Its absence has left a void in the emotional connection between guests and the park, decreasing overall satisfaction. Visitors have often described the "Kiss Goodnight" as the perfect ending to their day at the Magic Kingdom, encapsulating the heart and soul of what Walt Disney World represents: sparking imagination, fostering childlike wonder, and creating life-lasting memories.

We urge Walt Disney World to bring back the “Kiss Goodnight", to restore the magic and wonder that concluded our day at the park. It wasn't just a show, but a cherished tradition that brought families together and graced our hearts with a sense of joy and belonging. Let's return the "Kiss Goodnight" to its rightful place at the end of a magical day at the Magic Kingdom. Sign this petition today - let’s wish upon a star!
