Please complete this survey before the end of April in order that the 'PPS Safety Task Force' can include our feedback in its report to the school board on May 4th. Don't delay - it's easy to request trained SRO's!

PPS School Safety and Security - Family Input

Trained School Resource Officers from the Portland Police Bureau act as a deterrent for criminal activity and acts of violence against students and staff in schools. They can quickly respond to emergency situations. SRO’s are mentors and a navigator of support when students need to report child abuse, theft, harassment, sex/drug trafficking or other concerns, and they facilitate de-escalations along with resource referrals for families. The relationships SRO's build with youth at school help divert at-risk students from the juvenile justice system while creating a safe environment conducive to learning.
