I am a Linux user who was once able to play and enjoy Roblox to the fullest. To my profound disappointment, recent changes mean that this is no longer the case. Roblox has become a universally adored platform with over 150 million active users monthly, as of August 2020 (Business of Apps). Its popularity spans across multiple age groups, fostering creativity and providing a platform for social interaction. Yet, now, Linux users like me are left on the sidelines.

The decision to discontinue Linux compatibility seems not only a disservice to the diversity of the gaming community, but also a lost opportunity for Roblox itself. As of 2021, Linux is run on 1.3% of all computers worldwide (Statista), representing a significant number of users who are now unable to access a platform they used to love.

I am not alone in this; scores of Linux-powered Roblox fans are equally disappointed by the unfortunate turn of events. This is why we are appealing to the Roblox Corporation to reconsider their decision, to extend inclusivity, and restore compatibility with Linux.
