As with all things consistency is best. Too often we are “reactive” instead of “proactive” when it comes to solving issues and building relationships.
If you pass up a change to make a difference in a child’s life on a day to day basis when it’s so easy then you’re missing the point. All it takes is a smile and a kind word to get it started. Things aren’t required.
Doing things with the community that are engaging and helpful make a wonderful difference. Children learn from interacting with you and others, you get to know them and their parents, you maintain a positive presence and…there are just so many other benefits I could talk about it for the next two days but I know everyone is busy.
In any case consistency is the key. It’s too late to try and start playing catch up once something bad happens. It becomes blatantly obvious when you’re just trying to use an opportunity to your own advantage.
