My children, along with thousands of others in Cornwall, have been left without access to an NHS dentist. Our local dentist has transitioned to a private practice and there are no other NHS dentists accepting new patients in the area. Even the waiting list for a private family plan is extensive.

The situation is dire; the current waiting time for an NHS dentist exceeds seven years. This leaves countless adults and children without any form of dental care, which can lead to severe health complications down the line.

Dental health is not a luxury but a necessity - it's part of our overall well-being and should be accessible to all regardless of income or location. The lack of available dental care services on the NHS in Cornwall is alarming and needs immediate attention.

We urge the Department of Health and Social Care to address this issue urgently by reinstating school dentists or providing more funding for public dental services in areas like ours where they are sorely needed.
