Your support behind this petition represents a movement of youth empowerment,  native pride, native healing and overcoming oppression.  You may not know that individuals who work in your communities still work with an oppressive mindset.  They do things within their power to maintain oppression and sabotage the success of Native Programs. Recently, I took the role of Youth Mentorship Program Manager in which my role is to advocate and support native youth as they navigate the realities of life. I have worked within my department for 5 years and have always put the needs of my clients, the youth first, and their families second because realistically, these youth are almost adults. These youth are adults in the making. My mission has not and will not ever change however some individuals have other agendas and with that, I lost my job. I thank all of you who know me and have the courage to sign this. I know it is a small community but doing the right thing should stand above what the people with bad intentions might think. And that's keeping it real. 💯 💜
