Having spent time at Woodrow Wilson High School as an International Baccalaureate (IB) student, I was a firsthand observer of the profound impact of Mr. Rand Herz, a Global Politics and Theory of Knowledge instructor. His dedication, enthusiasm, and intellectually challenging classes enriched not only my own educational experience but also that of many others, leaving a lasting impression that went far beyond the classroom.

Unfortunately, Mr. Herz was fired for comments made towards a student—comments which have been taken out of context and misused to destroy his reputation. This decision not only disrupted his professional life but also deprived current and future students of an excellent teacher who challenged us to question and explore different perspectives.

We urge the school administration to reconsider this dismissal respectfully. Mr. Herz embodied the heart of the IB program, and he taught us curiosity, empathy, and a global perspective. Returning him to our community would restore a necessary voice to our learning environment. Sign our petition to return Mr. Rand Herz and allow his positive influence to continue shaping students for years to come.
