Reinstate Mr. Atubel and Revise School Policy Regarding Social Media Interactions

Reinstate Mr. Atubel and Revise School Policy Regarding Social Media Interactions
The Issue
Through the year, Mr. Atubel has positively influenced many of his students, including myself, surpassing the traditional boundaries of an effective teacher. His connection with students on social platforms like TikTok is a testament to his ability to resonate and connect with the youth. Rather than being applauded, however, Mr. Atubel has been singled out and removed from his position. Yet, a number of teachers, predominantly white, consistently engage with students on social media platforms without experiencing the same backlash. There is presently no policy preventing teachers from interacting with students outside of school.
Despite recognizing the lack of such prohibitive policies, Mr. Atubel has been subjected to an unfair practice. This potential bias within our educational system deserves immediate rectification. Not only should Mr. Atubel be reinstated, but an even and fair policy about teacher-student interaction on social media should be implemented. With the fair implementation of these policies, we can bring about equality, discourage any form of bias and uplift the spirit of unity, fairness, and justice within our school community.
We believe in the role of teachers like Mr. Atubel, who strive to connect and contribute to students' lives, both academically and personally. Their hard work and impact should be celebrated, not punished. Let's advocate for equal treatment of all educators and demand that our educational institutions responsibly address potential biases. Reinstate Mr. Atubel and establish a clear and equal policy across the board. Sign this petition, stand up for fair treatment in our schools, and help us bring Mr. Atubel back!
