We, the students of TU, feel compelled to address the significant and ongoing issues with the university's dining services. For too long, students have endured poor quality food, unprofessional service, and a lack of basic amenities that are essential for a positive dining experience. These concerns not only impact our daily lives, but also raise serious questions about the priorities of the university when it comes to student welfare.

One of the most pressing concerns involves the undercooked food served in campus dining halls. Just this past Wednesday, two students were served raw or undercooked chicken, which is not only a health risk but also a violation of basic food safety standards. For a university that prides itself on providing for its students, it is inexcusable that something as fundamental as food preparation is consistently mishandled. This failure compromises our safety and well-being, and we demand immediate action to ensure that such incidents do not occur again.

In addition to the safety issues, we have become increasingly frustrated with the lack of consistency and availability in the dining options. Chicken Wednesday, a longstanding tradition for many, has been marred by shortages of chicken, leaving students without the meal they were promised. How is it acceptable for a dining program to run out of its main offering on a day dedicated to that specific dish? This lack of preparedness is not only disappointing but also reflects poorly on the management of campus dining services.

Moreover, the service in our dining halls has steadily declined. Workers, who should be dedicated to providing an efficient and welcoming environment, have exhibited unprofessional and rude behavior toward students. There seems to be a pervasive attitude of indifference, which only exacerbates the negative experience. Students pay for meals, and in return, we expect a standard of service that reflects professionalism and respect. It is unacceptable for workers to engage in dismissive or disrespectful behavior when they are responsible for feeding hundreds of students daily.

The quality of the food itself is another area of concern. Students are subjected to the same uninspired and unappetizing meals time and time again. Dry pork, bland dishes, and repetitive menus have left many of us disillusioned with the dining options on campus. When Monty was part of the dining team, there were efforts to diversify meals, introduce new flavors, and offer more refreshing beverages like infused water and lemonade. These simple additions were appreciated by the student body and made a noticeable difference in the dining experience. Now, with the absence of such initiatives, students are left with little choice but to endure the same monotonous offerings day after day.

The situation at the CStore is equally troubling. Shelves are often empty, with limited food and drink options available for students who rely on the store for their daily needs. This lack of basic stock leaves us feeling as though we are being ignored or overlooked by the administration. How can we be expected to function as students when our most basic needs, such as access to food, are not being met?

Pizza Hut, once a staple for many students seeking variety, now offers a limited menu, further contributing to the frustration. With options so constrained, students are left with fewer choices, forcing us to settle for less than we deserve. When the dining options on campus are this limited, it affects not only our nutrition but also our overall morale.

As students, we are not asking for perfection, but we do expect a dining experience that meets basic standards of quality, variety, and respect. We should not have to resort to creative solutions, like turning the cafeterias into a "potluck encounter," simply to ensure that we have access to a meal that meets our needs. The situation has become untenable, and the time for change is long overdue.

We call on the administration to take immediate and decisive action to address these issues. The students at TU deserve better—better food, better service, and better quality of life. Our concerns are not trivial; they speak to the heart of the student experience on campus. We ask that the university prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of its students by investing in improvements to the dining services that are crucial to our daily lives.

We expect transparent communication, timely resolutions, and a clear plan of action to address the shortcomings of the current dining services. We deserve a campus dining experience that reflects the values and standards of a university that claims to put its students first.
