Reinstate LegalizeFerrets.org's YouTube Channel for Ferret Legalization Advocacy

La causa

We, the undersigned, call on YouTube to reinstate the LegalizeFerrets.org channel, which was unjustly removed due to alleged violations of the spam, deceptive practices, and scams policy. LegalizeFerrets.org is dedicated to advocating for ferret legalization and providing accurate information about ferret care and related legal issues. Our content is original, informative, and fully compliant with community guidelines on other major platforms, including Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, and Google Business Profile.

Why This Is Important:

LegalizeFerrets.org serves as a crucial resource for ferret enthusiasts and advocates. The removal of our channel undermines our mission to educate the public and push for the legalization of ferrets as pets. Our content is carefully crafted to be informative and supportive of the ferret community.

YouTube's decision appears to be based on a misunderstanding of our content. We have never engaged in spam, scams, or deceptive practices. We believe this decision was made in error and that the removal of our channel is a significant loss to our community and YouTube's various platforms.

Background:

On July 4th, we received the following notification from YouTube:

Hi LegalizeFerrets.org,

We have reviewed your content and found severe or repeated violations of our spam, deceptive practices and scams policy. Because of this, we have removed your channel from YouTube.

We had recently posted a video on July 2nd titled "A quick update to our lawsuit against the Fish and Game Commission," which discussed the classification of domestic ferrets as wild animals and an undesirable species. After filing an appeal, we received a response within a few hours reiterating that our channel violated YouTube's policy:

We know this is probably very upsetting news, but it's our job to make sure that YouTube is a safe place for everyone. If we think a channel severely violates our policies, we take it down to protect other users on the platform - but if you believe we've made the wrong call, you can appeal this decision. You'll find more information about the policy in question and how to submit an appeal below.

What our policy says

Content that promotes spam, scams, or other deceptive practices isn't allowed on YouTube.

Your channel will not be put back on YouTube We've taken a careful look at your channel again, and confirmed that it violates our Spam, deceptive practices and scams policy. We recognize this is disappointing news, but our goal is to keep the YouTube community safe and supported.
Given that our content has had no issues on Reddit, Facebook, Instagram, or Google Business Profile, we believe YouTube did not properly review our channel. There is no evidence of spam or scams, and all our content undergoes a copyright check.

We suspect that our channel might have been unfairly reported by opponents to our cause, similar to the tactics used on Craigslist to remove listings. With our lawsuit against the Fish and Game Commission gaining traction, it is possible that someone wants to shut us down.

Go to the content or channel that you want to report. Under the content or channel, click More. Report . On the list that appears, click Legal issue.

What We Want:

We respectfully request that YouTube reconsider and reinstate the LegalizeFerrets.org channel. We are committed to adhering to YouTube's guidelines and ensuring that our content remains a positive and informative resource for all users.

Support Our Cause:

By signing this petition, you support ferret legalization and the dissemination of important information to current and potential ferret owners. Your signature will help demonstrate to YouTube that our channel is a valuable resource deserving reinstatement.

Thank you for your support!
