We are alarmed to learn that shutters have been installed to block certain toilets at Chessington School, leaving approximately 300 girls with access to just 4 toilets. This situation is unacceptable. It risks pupil health and dignity, creates unnecessary obstacles to learning, and could have broader implications for student welfare.

Access to clean and safe sanitation facilities is a basic human right. For young students, especially girls, the availability of such facilities is crucial to ensure their health, comfort, and ability to focus on their education without the distraction and discomfort associated with insufficient restroom access.

The impact of this restriction at Chessington School is particularly severe. The lack of adequate toilet facilities leads to longer wait times and potential distress among students.
