Hello Everyone,  as you might have heard TOPS, or Texas Online Preparatory School at K12,  did a terrible decision and turned Columbus Day from a student holiday Into a regular Work day.

I am incredibly furious at this decision that K12 did, Students need a break from learning, especially since this was done for middle school and high school students, K12 can never give what the parents or students want, First they changed their Old GUI into a hard to use soulless mess, Now they got rid of Columbus Day and made it just another work day.

The reason why is because students when given school holidays are less stressed out, in fact it’s proven by multiple studies that school vacation days help students by relieving them from stress from all the workload, boost student morale, improve student overall well being and mental health, and also improving cognitive function, and K12 just removing Columbus Day as a student holiday is just a punch in the face.

K12 also did this for a political charged reason, which I’m certain that no students care about, basically K12 just chosen politics first over student well being, Like K12, you can’t just ruin the expected, Highly anticipated day where Students are hoping to finally get a day off from tiring school work because of political correctness, like K12, Do you really think students actually care that Columbus Day is bad when it’s also the same the day where they get a break? No K12, That said this also applies to TOPS, the Middle schoolers and high schoolers can’t just get a day off, even when they have more of the harder, soul crushing school work.

so this is why I’m asking you, the people, the students, and parents all around this country, to finally send a message to TOPS and K12 that we the people finally had ENOUGH of their nonsense, that them taking away Columbus Day as a holiday from us students Is the FINAL STRAW.

Now Please sign this petition to send a message to TOPS and K12 to keep Columbus Day a holiday for K12 middle and high school students, allowing them the much-needed break they deserve.

Important Note: if this Petition reaches its goal of signatures and it’s after Columbus Day, then the following week after Columbus Day will have a Monday as the replacement.
