The Collingswood Recreation Department used to have a softball program but it was dismantled due to lack of participation. Today, the options for young girls in the community to play softball are either to join the Little League Baseball co-ed program or join the Oaklyn softball program. 

I've been working with Jacob Goodman, the Collingswood Recreation Department Director, to put together a budget proposal and plan to reinstate the softball program into the Collingswood Recreation Department offerings for the Spring. My initial proposal to jumpstart the program is to have three age groups, 7-8, 9-10, and 11-13, form teams and play each other on weekends, similar to how the other recreational programs operate, with practice during the week. 

Our initial budget was shot down by the Borough, BUT, we have a chance to get the program approved if we can show there is enough interest and support in the community.

PLEASE consider signing this petition and helping us bring the softball program back into Collingswood Recreational Sports! Recreational softball is an excellent opportunity to teach our young girls teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, and confidence that will last a lifetime.
