Reinstate Bus Route to Hillary’s BH from Greenwood Station

Reinstate Bus Route to Hillary’s BH from Greenwood Station
The issue
Back in 2014, there was a convenient bus service, Route 456, that connected Hillarys Boat Harbor to Greenwood. Unfortunately, this service was discontinued, leaving many residents, including students and workers, with fewer options for public transport.
Recently, news has surfaced about a plan to construct a new multi-storey car park at Greenwood Station https://pta.wa.gov.au/news/media-statements/new-multi-storey-greenwood-station-car-park-a-step-closer While expanded parking might serve some people, it doesn’t benefit those of us who are dependent on public transportation, or who prefer sustainable commuting options. A revived bus service would provide greater accessibility and connectivity for residents, reduce traffic congestion, and support environmental goals by lowering car dependency.
The reintroduction of the bus route from Hillarys to Greenwood would not only revive a once valuable service but also encourage the use of public transport over personal vehicles. This is a more sustainable solution that aligns with environmental considerations and public transportation needs of our community.
I call upon the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia to consider reinstating this vital bus service. Doing so would enhance the lives of many residents who rely on or prefer public transport, especially those of us juggling university schedules and part-time work without the luxury of a car.
Signing this petition will help show our unity and determination in advocating for improved public transportation in our community. Please sign this petition to support the reinstatement of the Hillarys to Greenwood bus route.
