Reinstate Bettahalasuru Metro Station on Bengaluru Airport Line (Phase-2B)

Reinstate Bettahalasuru Metro Station on Bengaluru Airport Line (Phase-2B)
The Issue
To: Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), Government of Karnataka, and the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka
Our community, including the residents of Bettahalasuru and the surrounding areas, stands united in a plea for the reinstatement of the Bettahalasuru Metro Station. Initially included in the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of Namma Metro Airport Line Phase-2B, this station is crucial to ensuring accessible and efficient transit options for thousands of individuals who live and work in the region.
The station's omission in recent plans could lead to significant inconvenience for local residents, causing them to spend extra time and resources on travel. Reinstituting this station would spell better connectivity for lakhs of people, alleviate traffic congestion, reduce pollution levels, and contribute to the equitable growth and development of North Bengaluru.
Our request extends beyond convenience; it embodies the need for accountability and inclusion in the planning processes of infrastructure projects. We appeal for the legal compliance of such projects and emphasize the requirement for public consultation before finalizing any decisions. The values of transparency and community involvement should be intrinsic in urban planning.
By signing this petition, you are standing for better connectivity, supporting reduced traffic and pollution, fair development, and holding BMRCL accountable to their original commitments. We urge BMRCL, the Government of Karnataka, and the Hon’ble Chief Minister to act promptly in reconsidering their decision and reinstating the Bettahalasuru Metro Station as per the original DPR alignment.
Your support can make a difference. Join us in advocating for a better connected and more inclusive Bengaluru. Please sign this petition and help bring back the Bettahalasuru Metro Station, a crucial step towards sustainable urban development.
