I may not be a resident of Louisville, but the discontinuation of Amtrak's Kentucky Cardinal in 2003 has personally affected me and many others. This cessation left Louisville, one of the largest cities in America, without passenger rail service - an outcome that is totally unacceptable. The Kentucky Cardinal used to operate as a section on the three days when the long-distance Cardinal ran, splitting at Indianapolis. On other four days, it journeyed independently to Chicago.

This lack of service has not only inconvenienced thousands but also hindered economic growth and connectivity within our nation. Reinstating this service would provide a much-needed transportation option for residents and visitors alike while promoting sustainable travel.

We urge Amtrak to restore the Kentucky Cardinal service and reconnect Louisville with its surrounding areas through reliable rail transport. Sign this petition to support reinstatement of this essential train route!
