WE NEED TO REPLACE THE 2  LIVE CAMERAS ON PONCHA PASS THAT WERE TAKEN DOWN!  Anyone who drives US 285 in the winter knows how dangerous and unpredictable Poncha Pass can be. Right now, there are no live weather cameras at the summit—meaning school buses, emergency responders, and commuters are forced to drive over it without SEEING the live, rapidly changing conditions.  CDOT has a plan to upgrade the infrastructure, but it could take 3 to 5 years. We can’t wait that long. We are petitioning CDOT Region 5 leadership and our Saguache and Chaffee County Commissioners to fast-track replacing these two cameras before this winter season.
