Regarding the maximum duration of Child Care Leave in Technical Education Department, U. P
The Issue
Despite the crucial undertaking of raising a newborn, the present government order of Technical Education Department of Uttar Pradesh, only allows a maximum of 30 days of Child Care Leave (CCL) for its female lecturer. This inadequate period not only imposes undue stress on the new mothers but also adversely impacts the health and well-being of newborns. According to the World Health Organization, the initial months of a child's life are critical for their overall development and healthy growth. Moreover, the American Academy of Pediatrics recognizes the significant benefits of prolonged and exclusive maternal care for babies, especially during their early life phases. Therefore, we firmly advocate extending the CCL duration beyond the current limit of 30 days, allowing the mothers to make the decision. Every mother and child deserve quality time together without the constraints of an unjust regulation. It's our humble request the guidelines be revised for the betterment of our society's future.
