In the mid-20th century,  the modern version of the Troubled Teen Industry "Wilderness Camps" were made. It claims to be a rehabilitation camp for teenagers with behavioral and/or psychological problems. But what wasn't listed  in the treatments was the neglect, abuse, and manipulation from the staff in these camps. Messages are monitored and modified going in and out of the camps (kids were forced to say nothing but positive things about their experience), residents are cruelly punished, and innocent teenagers are treated like they're insane for simply being human. 

These kids are commonly pulled from their homes in the middle of the night, unknowingly betrayed by their parents and are forcefully shipped away into a secluded camp in the middle of the woods to be put through "treatments" to make them normal again. 

There have been countless testimonies from victims of this program,  sharing the disgusting truth. Not all have been from the wilderness camps. Some are even inside of mental institutions that operates under the same supervision.

Regardless, this industry is still alive today. Our government is doing nothing about it and allowing the most stigmatized group of people, in the most unregulated time of their lives, to be left behind to suffer. We need to stop this. We need to take action.
