DLNR openly admits in email that they want "fairer" permit issuance methods for the future, YET hold those 8 businesses that just were shut out of Kahalu'u by their unfair "first of its kind" process ???
Can they just admit the test run did not go as planned and fix the obvious loopholes in the system before implementing a fairer process in 2024?
Their actions have just impacted 8 small businesses now forced out of Kahalu'u and daily operations. All with less that 2 weeks to prepare for this process.
To make matters worse, a scheduled December 4th, 2023 shut out date is set for these 4 permits go into effect, banning 8 businesses from legally operating at Kahalu'u and putting us all in financial hardship. As all majority of businesses know- December is the busiest time of the year where majority of the years revenue is earned.
