The quota system in Bangladesh has long been a topic of heated debate. Designed to uplift marginalized sections of society, it's been observed that the system inadvertently hampers employment opportunities for the general populace. According to a report by The Daily Star (2020), about 56% of government jobs are distributed under this system. While the intent behind quotas is noble, the implementation needs significant improvement to ensure fairness in government job distribution. A system that balances the needs of scheduled tribes, freedom fighters, women, and the majority of the population is imperative. We strongly urge the government to review and reform the quota system in Bangladesh. This will not only satisfy the rallying call of students and job seekers nationwide but also reflect a more equitable society.
