Reform the H-1B Visa Program: Address Corruption and Support Families
The Issue
The H-1B Visa program has personally affected countless families, including my own. Many of us have borne witness to the resultant corruption within the industry, which undermines the integrity of the program and its original objective: to bring exceptional talent from abroad.
Our eyes have been opened to the fact that the current implementation of the program tends to favor corporations, at the expense of both U.S. and foreign-born workers. In fact, in 2020, The Economic Policy Institute reported that the top 30 H-1B employers accounted for more than a quarter of the visas granted (Economic Policy Institute, 2020).
The corruption and exploitation seen within the industry result in unfair wages and poor working conditions for H-1B visa workers. Ultimately, this system stifles opportunities for qualified international specialists to contribute their skills and share their talents.
We seek to reform the H-1B Visa program to ensure fairness, integrity, and justice for all involved, aligning with the original vision for the program. Join us in calling for this necessary change to support families and promote fair labor practices globally. Please sign and share this petition.
