The Issue

Olmsted Falls Ordinance as of 10/23

Shocking statement from Mayor of Olmsted Falls

I have been rescuing animals from the brink of death for almost seven years. I am sickened every time I see an abandoned, homeless, or stray animal on the verge of being euthanized due to our current "No Outside cats or dogs unowned , lost abandoned or homeless-"!- as well as the 3 pet ordinance!?  This law allows authorities to remove pets from homes , if enforced! Trapping and killing outside cats instead of TNR is not only cruel but also antiquated.
Istanbul Turkey seems to be living quite well among the stray cat and dog population. We can learn alot from them! Here in Westlake Ohio- if you see a stray cat, pray for her or him-- because they will have a tragic death here in Westlake
I've spent hundreds of thousands of dollars providing these innocent creatures with veterinary care, healthy diets, toys, beds and all their needs before finding them loving forever homes. These animals range from injured or sick kittens to healthy ones - some even had collars indicating they were once loved pets who were lost or discarded after their owners passed away.

It's high time we change this ordinance and adopt more compassionate practices like Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) instead of killing stray cats and unsocialized dogs and cats. TNR has been proven effective in managing feral cat populations in numerous communities around the world without resorting to euthanasia.

We must foster a kinder neighborhood where we stop taking lives unnecessarily and learn how to be caregivers instead. Let's protect these defenseless creatures who depend on us for survival.
Please join me in urging our local government to reform the 3 pet ordinance and promote TNR over euthanasia. Sign this petition now! Your signature can make a difference in these animals' lives!
On an added note; These Ordinances are being implemented in MANY cities in the State. Olmsted Falls just passed an Ordinance

in October of 2023 that is horrifying for animals as well- So if we look in to other cities that play off the Ohio State Law we will find more anti animal Ordinances that also need to be revised! Laws have been sadistically against wildlife and stray , homeless, abandoned animals for centuries! We have allowed this to go on for far too long-- Now its OUR TIME to Protect the animals who need us... enough is enough!
