Reform TASC's policies for fair treatment
The Issue
My boyfriend was recently referred to TASC (Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities) as part of my parole requirements. When my boyfriend arrived at TASC, they transferred him daymark then daymark transferred him to a hospital in Raleigh for further assessment. Upon arrival, the doctor evaluated his condition and decided that he did not meet the criteria for continued treatment through the hospital and released me. He communicated this outcome back to TASC and his parole officer immediately.
Surprisingly, the TASC representative rescheduled his appointment despite the doctor's evaluation stating there was no further need for their services. There was no clear explanation for this decision, leaving him confused and frustrated. Just when he was preparing for this appointment, he received a call stating he was being discharged; still, none of this made sense given that he had complied with every requirement set forth by TASC.
It seems there's a troubling flaw in TASC's administrative processes. Many people within the system face similar challenges of unclear communication and unwarranted mandates. TASC is designed to be a supportive mechanism for individuals working towards compliance and rehabilitation, yet such experiences indicate that its processes can be unnecessarily obstructive and inflexible.
This petition calls for a thorough review and reform of TASC’s policies. TASC should adopt a transparent, individualized approach where decisions are aligned with current medical evaluations and the unique circumstances of each case. More consistent communication is needed between TASC, healthcare providers, and the participants to prevent any unnecessary distress or confusion.
Policy reform must include:
1. Clear Guidelines: Establish explicit guidelines that detail the criteria for treatment continuation, discharge, and communication protocols with both participants and associated parole officers.
2. Accountability Systems: Implement systems to hold TASC officers accountable for improper scheduling or rescheduling without justified reasons backed by medical evaluations.
3. Feedback Mechanisms: Create easily accessible feedback channels where participants can raise concerns or provide input on their experiences.
By signing this petition, you’re advocating for a more humane, reasonable, and transparent process that respects the dignity and rights of individuals committed to changing their lives. Let’s bring about a system that truly facilitates rehabilitation rather than obstructs it.
The tasc lady has lied on his parole officer and on me let alone I’ve got all proof of everything
Someone up higher needs to evaluate the tasc lady at the wentworth tasc office
