Reform SSC and Railways Exam Systems

Reform SSC and Railways Exam Systems
The Issue
One of my students, Akash, who is physically challenged, was sent to a distant, remote exam centre that was nearly inaccessible for him. It was a stinky place. For rough work, he was provided a very bad quality flimsy paper sheet and a pen too thin to be held properly. During his exam, questions were downloading very slowly on his screen while the timer kept ticking. The mouse malfunctioned, and when Akash complained, he was not just ignored but beaten by the invigilator and verbally abused. He cried helplessly, with no one to address his complaints and no action taken against his mistreatment.
This incident is not isolated; it reveals systemic flaws in the current exam system for SSC and Railways. Immediate changes are necessary to prevent such injustices in the future. Firstly, the current exam conducting agency should be replaced with a more reliable, accountable, and standardized one to ensure fair exams for all candidates.
Secondly, the unjust and harmful normalization practices must be abolished by holding the main exam on a single day, eliminating discrepancies arising from multiple exam sessions. Exam centers should not be in remote locations with poor infrastructure, faulty computer systems, and unprofessional staff. Such environments are not just ineffective but also hostile, as seen in Akash's case.
Furthermore, there must be an immediate mechanism to address complaints. Participants should not fear retaliation for speaking up against discrepancies or malpractices. No more students should face questions that are incorrectly framed or unclear, which can jeopardize their future.
The time has come to demand accountability and standardization in the SSC and Railways exam processes to ensure a fair and just assessment for all candidates.
Please sign this petition to support necessary reforms that protect students and ensure they are tested under conditions that respect their dignity and effort. 🙏
