This is ONE of the Shar Pei's that attacked and killed my little Chica, while we walked home from town; anyone who has watched the video will know it was an unprovoked attack.

This is the conditions they live in (please note they live in their own excrement) which is why we really need to tighten the legislation around Dog Welfare - please sign this petition as well if you can - https://chng.it/rzGQKk5B2Y

Given the viciousness and sustained of the attack on Chica by both dogs I felt it necessary to inform Social Services when I learnt the owner was a heavily pregnant young woman who is insisting on bringing the new born child into the house with the two Shar Pei's.

Just this week I was informed by the Gateway team at Social Services that they were closing the case as the dogs are not deemed a risk to the new born child's life.

While I had understood before, and was again informed by Gateway, the owners father was in charge of the dogs when they escaped.

However, these dogs are not properly socialised and live in desperate conditions, so when they did escape they attacked and killed. Chica and I were in the wrong place at the wrong time, although it could just have easily been a small child.

These dogs currently have the run of the house, it beggars belief to believe that they will not be jealous when a new born baby is taken into their home.

The decision to close this case at this point is one that I feel may be regretted by the relevant authorities.

Little Chica lost her life on the operating table on Saturday 31st May 2025 as a result of the horrific injuries sustained during the attack by these two Shar Pei's.

Let my little girl's death be the last death caused by these two dogs.
