Hi everyone,

The BC Government accepted our petition, yet continues to ignore our update requests. This is disrespectful to all of us.

Please help by sending a brief email to the Administrative Coordinator to the Honourable Christine Boyle, Minister of Housing and Municipal Affairs:

Molly.Wilkins@gov.bc.ca

Email ideas/talking points - one is enough!

  • Please enact legislative changes in the petition
  • Are you aware of the case of 'Enzo', a Langley dog wrongfully seized and inhumanely held for over one year until release in late 2025?
  • Please consider humane reforms to protect dogs within the animal control system
  • Please legislate that a pet's "best interests" be considered when caught in the animal control system - similar to the 01/24 Family Law Act amendment
  • Vulnerable dogs in BC continue to suffer inhumane conditions of impoundment while this petition languishes
  • Have you further consulted colleagues?
  • We understood that your colleagues were supportive before presentation, so what is taking so long?
  • What is the status of the petition?
  • This is a kitchen table issue: at the end of the day, British Columbians want to know that their dog is safe within the system
  • How long is the deliberation process?
  • When did you receive the petition?
  • Is there active debate in the Ministry?
  • Have you reached out to the Petitioners?
  • If there is a petition process in BC, or not?
  • The petition was presented almost one year ago, what has been done in that time?
  • over 3,000 people signed the petition, we are waiting for substantial change

Please let Ms. Molly Wilkins and the Ministry know that we are not giving up!

Thank You, TTMD
