I am writing to you as a deeply concerned and heartbroken mother. My son, Dixtan, has been in detention for nearly five years.

On June 16, 2024, he will mark a painful milestone—five years of his life spent behind bars.

During these years, I have endured five birthdays, five Christmases, and five New Year celebrations without my son by my side.

The emotional toll has been overwhelming, and it is heartbreaking to watch him navigate his 20s within the confines of detention.

These are supposed to be the most vibrant and formative years of his life, filled with opportunities, growth, and milestones that he is unjustly being deprived of.

Under the Migration Act, the Minister of Immigration, Andrew Giles, possesses the discretionary power to intervene in such cases.

I humbly and earnestly request that you write to your local MPs to let Dixtan reunite with me, allowing us to rebuild our lives together.

Despite our efforts, we have yet to receive any update on my son's case.

Minister Giles, as a parent yourself, I implore you to consider the profound impact of continued detention on Dixtan's mental and emotional well-being, as well as the anguish it causes our family.

Your intervention could bring an end to our suffering and allow Dixtan to live a life of dignity and purpose, free from the shadows of detention.

I appeal to your sense of justice and compassion. Please, help us bring Dixtan home to me.

Please, can you help my petition reach 35,000 signatures, by sharing it with like-minded friends and family
