Our petition has crossed 14,000 signatures - thank you for spreading the word. But with officials saying they could force Dixtan to danger as soon as 7 August, we need all the help we can get. Can you take the next step by e-mailing Immigration Minister Andrew Giles?

Dixtan and I have had a difficult life. But I want to tell you what he was like as a boy.

My family is a small and beautiful family. Before my husband was killed, it was me, my husband and my son. Dixtan was a very affectionate child and my husband doted on him.

Dixtan loves sports and his favourite sport is cricket. We did not have a TV at home so my husband and Dixtan would travel on a bicycle to the next village and watch the cricket match on TV and return home only in the middle of the night.

During the rainy season, Dixtan would encourage his father to ride the bike over potholes so that there would be splashes of water. When that happened Dixtan would clap his hands and laugh. I can still remember the laughter and see the happiness on my husband’s face.

Now, Dixtan is the only remaining member of my family. We only have each other.
