We have observed an alarming trend in our local school community. Students are missing meals due to their high costs and, when they do eat, are resorting to cheaper, less nutritious alternatives. This practice poses a serious threat to their health and academic performance - a threat that can no longer be ignored.

Statistically, undernourishment can significantly impede children's capacity to learn (UNESCO, 2010). Moreover, studies indicate that children who eat a healthy lunch are 20% more likely to score higher on tests (Child Nutrition Studies, 2018). Understandably, affordability is a concern. However, the cost of using commercial ingredients can be reduced by 30% through efficient food waste management (EPA, 2016).

By ensuring that school food is not only sufficient and tasty but also affordable and nutritious, we tackle two pressing issues: malnutrition among students and food wastage. We urge the school administration to revise its meal strategies in favor of our kids' health and future.
