The streets surrounding our local school urgently need a reduced speed limit and the installation of speed humps to protect the lives of children and residents alike. Every day, families trust that these roads are safe for young pupils walking to and from school, yet speeding vehicles continue to put them at serious risk. This issue is deeply personal to me, as I experienced the devastating loss of my beloved cat, who was run over by a car travelling far too fast through our estate. The heartbreak of that moment still lingers, and it serves as a painful reminder of how quickly reckless driving can destroy lives. If a cherished pet can be taken so suddenly, it is unthinkable what could happen to a child. Slowing traffic through enforced limits and physical measures like speed humps would not only prevent further tragedies but also create a safer, more secure environment for everyone in our community.
