As a resident of Edinburgh with sensitive hearing, hearing loss and Tinnitus, I experience immense discomfort due to the high volume of the alarm that sounds when the tram doors close. 

The high volume not only exacerbates conditions like mine, but also poses a daily nuisance for residents and visitors alike. Imagine what it must be like living alongside the route, particularly where the trams stop to allow passengers on and off? 

I've travelled on trams in numerous countries and never experienced anything like this! 

Prolonged exposure to noise above 70 decibels can cause harmful health effects like hearing loss and stress, as per information from the World Health Organisation. 

Currently, the alarm sound of the Edinburgh trams surely exceeds this safe limit? This is not just about individual comfort but also a public health concern that affects everyone. This additional noise is totally unnecessary.

Therefore, I am urging Edinburgh Trams Ltd to review their systems and modify the alarm volume to an level acceptable for all. This will greatly increase the commuting experience for everyone.
