Reduce the Cost of Lego Motorized Functions

The Issue

I have been a passionate builder of motorized Lego, following instructions or letting my creativity run wild. However, the high cost of Lego motorized functions has become a significant barrier to this joyous activity. Many enthusiasts like myself find it increasingly difficult to afford these essential components that bring our creations to life.

According to Brickset, an average motorized function set costs around $50 - $100. This price range is quite steep for many builders, especially young ones who rely on their limited pocket money or allowances. The high cost limits our creativity and discourages new builders from exploring this fascinating world of mechanized Lego models.

Lego Group's annual report (2020) revealed an operating profit of DKK 12.9 billion ($2 billion). While we understand that businesses need profits to sustain and grow, we believe there is room for them to review and reduce the pricing for their motorized functions without significantly impacting their profitability.

We urge the Lego Group to reconsider its pricing strategy for its motorized functions and make them more affordable for all enthusiasts worldwide. This change will not only benefit existing builders like myself but also inspire more people – especially children –to explore and engage with STEM through building mechanized LEGO models.

Please sign this petition if you believe in making Lego's motorized functions more accessible and affordable for everyone. I don't think it's fair for anyone with a limited budget. Lego please hear me, if you brought the prices down you would probably make more money because more people could afford them so more people could buy them.
