As a disabled veteran, I, like many others, find myself confronted by economic challenges daily. One prominent issue is the ever-increasing cost of water bills. It may seem insignificant to some, but small expenses can quickly accumulate, adding an unnecessary strain on families struggling to make ends meet.

The EPI states that "nearly 14 million US households struggle to pay for water as rates rise 80%". This number is alarmingly high and a telling sign that change is urgently needed.

The proposed solution is a reduction of forty percent in our water bills. This reduction would significantly alleviate the financial burden of millions of households struggling to afford necessities as vital as water.

Our request is not unreasonable or lacking precedent. In countries like Ireland, after large-scale public protest, domestic water charges were suspended in 2016. We urge our governing bodies to demonstrate the same concern for its citizens and apply a corrective action to remedy this issue.
