In the coming days, Congressman Don Beyer will reintroduce the legislation in the 118th Congress to redesignate Arlington House, the Robert E. Lee Memorial as Arlington House National Historic site.  A similar bill is expected to be reintroduced in the Senate.  We are about to reach 2,000 signatures on the petition.  We are extremely appreciative of everyone who has signed on to support this effort.  There is work to do to make this bill and law. We still can use your help in two important areas.

First, take a moment to write a short letter of support to your Congressional Representative and your two Senators.  We need to raise attention for this legislation to show there is nationwide support.  Your message can be a single short paragraph stating you support the legislation of Congressman Beyer to redesignate the Arlington House as a National Historic Site.  We want the National Park Service Site to more inclusive and less exclusive.  When I have the bill references, I will post them here.

Second, help double the number of signatures on the petition by telling other people about this effort.  Our goal is 5,000 signatures with more than 1,300 signatures from Virginians and 50 or more signatures from every other state in the country. Please help us to reach the goal by asking family members, friends and colleagues over 18 years of age to support this endeavor and sign the petition.
