Thank you to all of the latest petition signers.  We have reached nearly 1,946 signatures on the petition.  We are extremely appreciative of everyone who has signed on to show your support for this legislation.

In the coming days, Congressman Don Beyer is expected to reintroduce legislation in the 118th Congress to redesignate Arlington House, the Robert E. Lee Memorial as Arlington House National Historic Site.  A similar bill is expected to be reintroduced in the Senate by Tim Kaine.

There is still challenging work to do to help this bill become law. We still need your help in two important areas.

First, take a moment to write a short letter of support to your Congressional Representative and your two Senators.  Find your Representative at House.gov and your Senators and Senate.gov.  We need to continue to raise attention for this legislation in both houses of Congress to show there is nationwide support.  We want the National Park Service site to be more inclusive and less exclusive.  Your message can be a single, short paragraph stating your support for the legislation to redesignate the Arlington House as a National Historic Site.

Second, help double the number of signatures on the petition by telling other people about this effort.  Our goal is to have more than 1,000 signatures from Virginians, 500 from both DC and MA, and 50 or more signatures from every other state in the country. Please help us to reach the goal by asking family members, friends and colleagues over 18 years of age to support this endeavor and sign the petition.
