The currently imposed quieter streets trial in Barkingside is going to cause more traffic in an already congested area and increase air and noise pollution in the area as stationary cars will be stuck for longer. The council should look at other traffic and speed calming measures and stop the trial immediately.

The claims made to justify this trial are hugely exaggerated. Having alternative through roads eases congestions as it disperses traffic however these closures will direct and concentrate traffic in dense junctions and areas. 

Emergency services and the vulnerable will suffer along with the local residents who currently have the option of taking an internal route to get to local destinations and avoid hotspots. This will lead everyone to those hotspots making them far worse. 

Apparently there was a consultation in July but as a resident of the area I was not made aware of this and I question how many residents were actually aware until last week when sigbs went up saying this is being trialled. 

REDBRIDGE COUNCIL. STOP THIS TRIAL AND START THE CONSULTATION ON THIS AGAIN, ALLOWAING ALL RESIDENTS TO PROVIDE FEEDBACK.
