Catwalk Pet Shop invests a great deal of time in presenting itself positively on social media (Facebook, Twitter. Google Reviews etc) and aggressively challenges or deletes any negative feedback. Catwalk’s friends, supporters and family members flood their social media with positive reviews and comments and these positive reviews are what members of the public looking for a puppy or a kitten, or considering rehoming an adult dog, will subsequently see and be influenced by.
But we CAN fight back, using the very methods they themselves use to sell themselves to the public!
Catwalk currently has approx 260 Google Reviews, the overwhelming majority of these being positive, awarding them the maximum 5 stars Whilst there are a handful of 1 star reviews, the majority of those submitting these reviews have not commented, whereas the overwhelming majority who have left positive reviews have left detailed comments praising Catwalk and their staff. Catwalk have replied to many of the reviews and, where a single star has been awarded but without a comment, Shazia Dar has been quick to challenge the reason for the poor review, but the reviewer does not then respond. The impression this gives is that the person who gave the one star review has behaved unreasonably or with spite.
Whilst not all members of the public will be swayed by a good or bad review, those who might would currently be likely to form the opinion, from Google Reviews, that Catwalk are a reputable and trustworthy business with an excellent customer satisfaction rating, and that those few customers who have left a one star review have given no reason for this, so – on balance – likely acted out of spite.
It is a simple process to turn this around in favour of those who are fighting for pet shops like Catwalk to be recognised as a front for puppy farming/illegal breeding/importing.
If WE can generate 260 or more one star Google Reviews – together with comments explaining why a negative review is being left (this is important!) this will result in Catwalk’s review rating slipping. Double this number and the balance would be shifted from largely positive reviews to largely negative reviews. Double it again, and all any member of the public, checking Google Reviews to see if Catwalk is a reputable business, will see is a wall of negative and concerning reviews. Even the most prolific social media influencer would struggle to challenge that number of negative reviews.
It takes only a couple of minutes to leave a Google Review. Search for the company name or the street name on Google. Select “MAPS” and up will come a side bar with all sorts of information about the business. Scroll down to the bottom to find the option to leave a Google Review. PLEASE DO THIS! THIS ONE LITTLE THING – WHICH TAKES NO MORE THAN A FEW MINUTES – COULD HAVE A MASSIVE IMPACT!
