Dear petitioners,
You may be keen to attend a vitally important public meeting at Wanstead House community centre this coming Tuesday evening (October 24). It will give local people a chance to confront councillors and the council leader about the parking consultation and their plans.
The Redbridge Council public forum meeting is the first being held in the area in just under two years. But there has been a stunning lack of official publicity for it. Local groups say that's a deliberate tactic to keep people away from the meeting. About 300 people attended a hastily arranged parking meeting in January, forcing council leader Jas Athwal to back down from imposing immediate widespread parking restrictions.
Undoubtedly, there's strength in numbers. The Wanstead Forum will run from 6.30pm-8.30pm at Wanstead House, 21 the Green, E11 2NT. This community centre, on the corner of The Green and Redbridge Lane West, is just a minute's walk from Wanstead Tube station.
