I write this petition not only as a single parent on a low income, but as someone who, like countless others, is struggling to keep afloat in the current economic climate. As I work despite my M.E diagnosis, juggle the responsibilities of single parenthood, and mourn the recent loss of my mother, I am met with yet another challenge - a potential increase in financial strain brought by the proposed changes in stamp duty.

The government's recent decision to increase stamp duty adds another hurdle for those of us already at a disadvantage. The proposed threshold will only serve to heighten the financial challenges we face daily and further amplify the disadvantages we experience.

We stand to be greatly affected by these changes as it serves only to push us further into socioeconomic disadvantage. Let's take a stand together against this. Let's remind our leaders that this about our homes, not their profits. 

Help urge government officials to reconsider these proposed changes to stamp duty, at least for those attempting to secure what would be their only family home.
