🇺🇦🇮🇪 Important official update from the Ukrainian side

We have received an important official response from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine regarding the exchange of Ukrainian driving licences in Ireland.

The Ukrainian side has confirmed that work on an agreement between Ukraine and Ireland on the mutual recognition and exchange of national driving licences is ongoing.

According to the official response:

🇺🇦 Ukraine has already prepared and updated the draft agreement.

📅 On 14 July 2026, the updated draft agreement was provided to the Irish side for consideration.

🇮🇪 The Irish side has confirmed its readiness to continue the dialogue on this issue.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also highlighted that Ireland already has similar agreements with Moldova and Georgia, while Ukraine has continued to raise the issue with the Irish authorities.

The Ukrainian side has confirmed that it will continue working with Ireland with the aim of moving the process forward and preparing the agreement for signing.

At the same time, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) has confirmed to us that it is currently engaging with the Ukrainian driving licence authorities to consider a driving licence exchange agreement.

This is an important step forward.

And our community is making its voice heard.
